Meet the Young Buskers!

Some time ago we launched a new amazing opportunity for early career musicians called “Young Buskers”.

The Young Buskers project, part of the Ashfield Creates programme, has been created to support early-career musicians by providing paid busking opportunities across Ashfield.

We were overwhelmed with the number of young talents out there in the Ashfield Area, and cannot wait to give each one a spotlight!

Let us introduce you this first roster of extremely talented musicians!

George Nash

George Nash is a guitarist, composer, a modern-day bard currently based in Nottingham, UK. He specialises in storytelling instrumental guitar music but instrumental with a twist; think front man of a band. Blending folk, rock, celtic and his roots in a unique percussive fingerstyle guitar experience. He is endorsed by Dowina Guitars. Every note is performed live. Expect a variety of fast paced, slow paced, adrenaline rushing highs, emotional lows and an all-around immersive experience. Come have a look into his world.

Emily Sanders

I fell in love with a wide scope of genres from a young age, growing up with Nirvana and Foo Fighters to Erykah Badu. When I started writing my own music I enjoyed the freedom soul and indie gave me. I always try and bend genres to how I want my music to sound and give the audience something that shows my character. I draw musical inspiration from empowering artists like Jorja Smith, Olivia Dean, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots and Loyle Carner and my emotive lyrical style takes influence from artists like Billie Eilish and Fleetwood Mac.

Teddy Osborn

I’m inspired by music of all genres, and also take part in musical theatre, as well as playing piano and guitar but particularly enjoy playing indie music-everything from The Smiths to Paulo Nutini and Mumford & Sons. I love that music can be enjoyed by everyone and just makes you feel good.

Oliver Ward

I have been entertaining at pubs, weddings, care homes, community events and festivals for the last couple of years. Lots of experience singing to a live audience, for example, at BuskFest in Mansfield. I also sang at the Ashfield Show a couple of years ago on the community stage. I have recently taken to busking as a way to promote what I do and have found it to be extremely rewarding for me and uplifting for the community around me.

Standing Order

Standing Order are a Nottingham-based US Grunge and UK Indie inspired band formed by school friends who reconnected through a shared drive to make music on their own terms. At the core of the band are Jack C Marshall (vocals, songwriting, guitars, and orchestration) and Devon O’Kane (drums and songwriting), who take a hands-on approach in the studio, performing all instruments across their recordings to shape a sound that is entirely their own. Blending raw energy with carefully layered arrangements, Standing Order channel their long-standing creative chemistry into a live music experience that feels both personal and expansive. Their debut demo single, ‘Morphine’, is available on SoundCloud, marking the first glimpse into their evolving style.

We cannot wait to see them busk!

If you are as excited as we are to see their performances then you should join us at Hucknall Food & Drink Festival, on Sunday 23rd of August.
