Deborah Hill is a folk artist specialising in canal boat art. She began painting five years ago during Covid but had always enjoyed art. She enjoys painting on recycled materials including horseshoes, coal scuttles, jugs, metal objects, canvas and cards. She uses acrylics and enamel paints and replicates the traditional “folk art flick” to paint her designs. She had a small exhibition in 2024 in Newark Town Hall called “Art on the Move”.
Her previous workshops have included working with people who are Neurodivergent and also people recovering from drug and alcohol issues.
Deborah has a PTTLS teaching qualification and a degree in Person Centre Therapy. Her courses are centred around providing a platform for growth, confidence building and therapeutic benefit. The courses help people to become more creative and combat social isolation at the same time.
